K & M // No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place

Kate & Marcus were married in the intimate and romantic Georgian townhouse of No. 25 Fitwilliam Place, having had to move from their original venue Gloster House due to government restrictions. What was supposed to be a late Spring/early Summer wedding became a fabulous city Autumnal celebration instead.

Like all the recent couples faced with heartbreaking disappointment after their wedding plans had been shattered, Kate & Marcus faced months of uncertainty and stress. They were incredibly resilient and flexible through it all, not allowing a global pandemic to crush their hopes and plans.

It was a lesson in perspective and priorities, they learned what was most important to them - it wasn’t the party or the big wedding, it was the marriage that was most important at the end of it all.

Having to cut their guest list from 180 to 25, they were touched by the love and support they received from their closest family and friends throughout the process. They valued and cherished each individual who was there every step of the way as plans moved and changed. When you focus on what really matters, there’s clarity and peace no matter the length of the guest list. I hope you enjoy taking a look through and seeing how beautiful and special smaller and intimate weddings really are.

The talented Tina from The Wild Bunch did an incredible job on the flowers, especially as it was a last minute booking. She combined roses, orchids, baby’s breath, eucalyptus and honesty dried seed heads in the most elegant way I’ve ever seen.

Marcus and the groomsmen were decked out in Louis Copeland. Safety first! We took a few obligatory pandemic portraits clad with masks and keeping appropriately social-distanced. These are the shots to show the grandkids, ‘we were married during the 2020 pandemic’!

Kate had impeccable taste and it was a celebration infused with such thought and style.

Her dress from Anna Kara was divine and she wore it so well, as were her shoes from Bella Belle, a last minute purchase as the other ones didn’t arrive in time.

The ladies were beautified that morning by the lovely Michelle of MM Studios on make-up and Aisling Hamill on hair. Both have such a calming and easy going presence.

The lovely Romy Mc Cauley conducted their meaningful and personal ceremony. I have worked with Romy on numerous previous occasions and she brings such a warm and beaming energy to the room. This celebration was even more special given the circumstances.

For their portraits, we strolled by the leafy canal and took a walk down some of Dublin’s most elegant streets, The Georgian Mile and around Fitzwilliam Square with it’s red ivy-clad facades. It was a crisp and cool Autumn day with beautiful light that evening.

Dinner was served in the elegant Gandon rooms, with the helpful and attentive team providing a flawless service ensuring Kate, Marcus and their guests were completely at ease and well looked after.

The music was such a treat for their guests, they had the Dublin String Quartet for the ceremony and reception and for the night’s entertainment they had DJ Gordon Johnson on the decks keeping the floor filled for the evening! Numbers being smaller certainly didn’t dampen the party atmosphere.
